Flagpole/Landing

Personal Experience:

I completed my Landing formality at Coutts-Montana Border. It was unexpectedly smooth and quick.

For everyone who are in Alberta and want to flagpole, I would strongly suggest to go to Coutts instead. This border is open 24×7 however the landing process is from 8AM to 11PM. I did mine on Saturday at 5PM on foot because that is the quickest way as Canada and US immigration offices are in the same building.

DIRECTIONS:

Take a exit before the actual border to reach FREE PARKING spot at Canada side. Here is the Location

  1. Cross the glass bridge on your left (stay in Canada aisle)
  2. At the far end, open the door on your left and take staircase to go to 2nd floor.
  3. Enter the second floor and exit the building. Take a Left turn, you would see the US BORDER. Now at the counter, give them your passports and tell them that you are there for Flagpole (They know it all) – You do not need US VISA. They will let you in their side of building and ask you stay for 10-15 minutes. The US officer will call you and ask you to confirm your details. He will give you a Refusal Letter (No impact on further travel to US)
  4. Now, You will exit the building and take a left turn around the brick wall to reach Canada Border. You will be asked the same questions and they will let you in their side of the building.
  5. You need to present following documents to Immigration Officer Passport, CoPR, Refusal Letter. He would call you after 15-20 minutes and stamp your CoPR.

Pretty quick and smooth process!!
